RDL Ping Pong Ball Launcher
RDL EMERGENCY!! Ping Pong Ball Launcher
Get your team started on the 2026–2027 Robot Drone League EMERGENCY!! Urban Rescue Challenge with the RDL Ping Pong Ball Launcher.
Designed specifically for this year’s EMERGENCY!! challenge, this launcher provides teams with a practical starting point for developing their robot’s ball-launching system. The kit includes the components needed to build the launcher; assembly is required, giving students an opportunity to build, test, troubleshoot, and understand the mechanism before integrating it into their competition robot.
In the spirit of the Robot Drone League, this is not intended to be the only solution. The launcher is based on readily available/open-source components and 3D-printed parts with STL files available to teams. You can purchase the kit for a convenient starting point, or source the materials yourself, 3D print the components, and build your own version.
Most importantly, modify it, redesign it, improve it, and make it your own. Experiment with mounting configurations, feeding mechanisms, launch angles, controls, and other ideas that fit your team’s strategy. The goal is not simply to assemble a launcher—it is to use the design as a foundation for engineering, innovation, and problem-solving.
